She invented her technique for wet felted watercolor effects and had taught so many people to do it! She has published her own book on the technique too🌸

Jacky Cardy’s work was inspirational

wonderful-I love felt and I love industrial production that attempts to do it right. I just talked to an employee at Patagonia in the US, who said that they only buy new merino from New Zealand, due to a variety of reasons, including treatment of the animals, and they always try first to to source recycled merino. They only buy recycled cashmere. I know many artists buy from local farmers and I’d like to share Rainbow Fibers, produced by Dine/Navajo shepherds, who sell yarn and roving. It’s not merino but it makes an excellent felt!

I am part of a small textile group ‘Women of the Cloth’ and on a recent day out at the Knitting & Stitching show we absolutely loved the SilkFelt Mermaid project works of Yulia Badian, Ariane Mariane, Roswither Karl-Schreiner and Lidwina Charpentier. Amazing stuff – such an incredibly versatile medium. Thank you for such an inspiring article.
